Dear Village Family, In light of declining COVID-19 numbers and our Governor lifting his mask mandate, The Village Church - Lutheran Board of Elders met to discuss how we will move forward. The CDC is still recommending that if you are inside, whether you are vaccinated or not, you should wear a mask. With the upgrades to our facility and lower COVID-19 numbers in St. Tammany Parish, the elders voted to lift the mask requirement indoors. If you feel more comfortable with a mask on, please feel free to continue do so. Your Pastor and your elders will continue to wear a mask while distributing communion. Please remember we gather as a family and are responsible to each other. Many of our church family have received their vaccination(s). Still, many of our members may have underlying health issues that warrant them to continue to wear a mask. Please be respectful of their personal situation and space in the pews and in fellowship. Today our Village family said goodbye to the Selking family. It was a very emotional service from my standpoint for multiple reasons. We celebrated the rite of confirmation for two students, Grant and Molly. This was also their first time to receive the Lord's Supper on Sunday. It was truly a special day. But I actually thought I had one more Sunday with the Selking family before they left, but I was wrong. Lesson learned, never take things for granted. So what can you say about them? It has been such a pleasure to have them as part of our church family. We will miss them and the many roles they helped fill at our church. Godspeed to you Pastor
